The annual Berwick Food and Beer Festival is back from 2nd-3rd September 2017.
Now in its TENTH year, the event attracts thousands of visitors from around the UK.
The Beer Festival marquee on the green opposite the town’s Georgian Barracks will offer a huge range of local beers and a chance to explore Berwick’s malting history, thanks again to generous sponsorship from Simpson’s Malt. And with Street Food Street linking the Beer and Food Festival areas, visitors have an even wider choice of delicious dishes to sample on the spot.
Organised by Berwick’s Slow Food Group, the festival is a unique chance for visitors to find out more about the thriving local food scene in Northumberland & the Scottish Borders.
Combining a showcase for local food producers with events celebrating the culture and heritage of food in the region, it makes a great day out. And there’s a wide-ranging programme of events throughout the Festival weekend.
Slow Food is part of the wider international Slow Movement; Berwick is one of the few UK towns to be granted Cittaslow status and certainly one of the most northerly. We aim to provide a good quality of life for both our residents and visitors and the Berwick Food Festival makes a major contribution to this.
The Beer Festival opens with 'Meet the Brewers' at 7pm on Friday 1st, and the Food Festival opens 10am on Saturday 2nd.
