Near the Barracks
A tented encampment will be set up close to the town’s fortifications, illustrating aspects of life and warfare on the Anglo-Scottish border during the period from the Battle of Carham in 1018 until the Union of the Crowns in 1603. Access to all parts of the display area and the various activities will be free of charge.
The displays and activities will be free of charge, with members of the public of all ages being invited to gain “hands-on” experience of medieval textile making and cookery, archery,and handling armour and weapons,
Re-enactors will also present a programme of talks on various topics related to the medieval history of Berwick and the Border, in association with an exhibition being staged in the town during the living history weekend.
