Singfest!

A celebration of singing, as series of concerts, cabarets and workshops in the week f May 15th involving the whole community.
Berwick Singfest! is a celebration of singing, It is the culmination of work with Berwick and Borders schools, with Berwick and Borders choirs, with professional singers, Memory Laners and with beginners, and will give everybody the chance to sing, to learn and to hear some outstanding musicians.
The showpiece will be the first performance of True Thomas, a work specially commissioned for this occasion. It tells the story of Thomas the Rhymer, a local hero, and will feature a virtuoso team of professional singers and musicians, the massed choirs of Berwick and the Borders, and a cameo by the youngest singers in North Northumberland!
We have a Concert of Delights, featuring works by Gershwin, we have a series of Coffee Cabarets to get your day off to the perfect start, and we have workshops on different aspects of singing. We are planning a Singfest Trail, where singers will pop up in the most unexpected places.
In short, there is something for everybody! We strongly encourage you to participate, by joining one of our choirs, by coming to our concerts and workshops, or by just standing up and singing!
