Find out about Berwick’s history in the Visitor Centre sited in a former Methodist church. As well as its usual displays on Berwick, see an exhibition about the history of
the Methodist community in the town and a Photo Centre exhibition of images.
Originally there were two Methodist chapels in Berwick—Primitive and Wesleyan. This building was the Wesleyan Methodist Chapel which was opened in 1797 with alterations made in 1878. In the early 1920s both congregations amalgamated and worshipped together here until 2017 when it was sold. The building was reopened as a Visitor Centre in 2019.
