This Saturday the 20th of April we are supper excited to welcome Alastair Gordon who will be supported by local funk soul father leader of Circus In The Sky and band member for The Official Albert Lee – Iain Petrieβ¦ who will kick things off a little earlier than usual at 7PM
Alastair has been on a small tour of Scotland and the the North East and delighted heβs decided to spend his Saturday night with us. What to expect! Al started performing original material on the Berlin open mic scene in his late teens. Since then his voice has been shaped into a rich baritone through years of busking and a creative approach to guitar and harmonica has been shaped by adventurous listening habits.
The clearest influences include John Martyn, Charlie Parr and The Felice Brothers. Lyrical content often tackles unconventional subject matter and reflects a life split between South Yorkshire and North Saxony.
In his current base of Sheffield, he has supported some of the most exciting artists in modern folk including Fern Maddie, Brown Horse, Jim Ghedi, Alabaster de Plume, Gwenifer Raymond and The Brothers Gillespie, as well as headlining shows at legendary venues including Cafe 9 (Sheffield), The Prince Albert (Stroud), The Bike Shop(Norwich), Zum Wilden (Leipzig) and Madame Claude (Berlin).
