Etal Show will welcome you again on 1st September.

Classes in the main marquee will be free to enter this year so don’t hesitate to get your entries in before 30th August. Entry forms can be found in this year’s schedule and online at http://www.etalshow.org/exhibitors.html

New classes for this year include a “Kitchen Garden section – vegetables grown for the table.”

We hope that this will encourage everyday vegetable growers to try their hand in the vegetable section.

The Lord Joicey Special Photography Class title for 2024 is “All’s Well That Ends Well”. This should be a mounted display of four photographs (Each photo, no larger than 7”x 5”).

Also don’t forget The Michael Edward Joicey Family Salver which is awarded to the parents & children (age 15 & under) who collectively gain the most points throughout the show.

In the arena we will be featuring the Alba Axemen – Scotland timber sports demo and competition team who compete in timber sports competitions all over the UK.

Also new for this year will be a Health and Wellbeing area and a Paintball Range.

Music will be provided by Coldstream Pipe Band, Berwick Concert Band and Glendale Community Ceilidh Band. The ceilidh band will be performing a little heard tune called “Lord Joicey’s Gift” written by Stewart Hardy, a North East based musician, as part of a suite celebrating the 300th anniversary of the opening of Morpeth Town Hall in 2014. Over a hundred years ago, the 1st Baron Joicey, who is the current Lord Joicey’s great grandfather, famously gifted the Town Hall to the town of Morpeth. He had previously purchased it from the Carlisles but when the townspeople had raised enough money to reimburse him he tore up the cheque when it was presented to him.

Every year we have a great group of volunteers who help us over the weekend to set up, run and take down the show. We are always on the look out for more people to join the team so if you are prepared to help out in any way, even if it’s just for an hour on show day, don’t hesitate to get in touch.
