Join Professor Maria Chester of Berwick Educational Association for an in-depth and highly illustrated lecture on the life and work of LS Lowry.

Best known for his industrial landscapes of North West England, he also painted the sea from an early age.

In this lecture we will examine Lowry’s style, palette and extensive body of work. Always working within a limited colour range, from the 1960’s he chose to paint his figures on a white background, as he saw the industrial landscape around him disappearing.
