This Friday the 28th of June we welcome back one of our favourite live acts Liz Jones performing with world toured multi-instrumentalist Suzy Cargill.Liz first performed here in 2023 supporting the Tommy Bentz Band … and we’ve been bothering her ever since. She’s recently been on another tour with her band Liz Jones & Broken Windows, she’ll be off again touring after… She’s an area-level act… so grab the chance to see her while she’s cheap (Free Entry Even)!
We were lucky enough to have them perform here as a trio in February this year and we have been counting the day down ever since..
Songwriter Liz Jones, originally from South London, via Cumbria, has landed a creative base in Edinburgh working beside celebrated & internationally toured musicians on her original music. A singer also in the roots rock & blues worlds, most known for a hybrid soothing and raucous “voice that could wake the dead”.
Wry, idiosyncratic, biting at reality and often personal lyrics from an unconventional life and a ‘peace & love’ hippy spirit. Performed in a, ‘whichever way the wind blows’ style, Jones has been bizarrely compared vocally to both Dusty Springfield and Janis Joplin, but neither are correct. New releases are expected in 2023, after the all-original debut solo album ‘Bounty’, received worldwide radio play and excellent reviews.
