Film: ‘A Matter of Life and Death’

November’s monthly film night at the Barrels, will be showing Powell & Pressburger’s ‘A Matter of Life & Death’, from 1946. A post-war classic, it stars David Niven as an RAF pilot whose plane is hit returning from a bombing raid. He strikes up a conversation with an American radio operator, June, before his plane crashes. He should be dead, but there’s a mix-up in heaven, he stays alive, but has to prove he should be allowed to live, in a celestial court.
