Singfest Finale: Singing The Seas

“This is the final event of Berwick Singfest! – a celebration of singing.

Part I

En Miniature: an exciting and varied programme, in styles to suit all tastes, of small groups and soloists, including a Young Children’s Choir for ages 4—10, run by Young Singing Leaders , aged 13 –18 from across Berwick and the Borders, and a Young People’s Choir from top young singers aged 11-18 taken from 6 schools in Berwick and the Borders, all under the guidance of Rachel Dyson.

Also showcasing other local talent from across Berwick and the Borders: including soloists, Cameron Robertson, Cyril Young, and ensembles The Sea Quintet and the Earl Grey Saxophones.

Part II

En Masse: Songs of the Sea for Massed Community Choir – drawn from the rich heritage of community choirs and singers from across Berwick and the Borders and further afield accompanied by the Earl Grey Saxes.
Songs include Oh I Do Like to Be Beside the Seaside, The Owl and The Pussy Cat and three pieces – one of which is being performed for the first time – written specifically for Berwick and the Borders, all under the direction of Nick Milburn.
