Welcome to The Fishers Arms, Horncliffe

The Fishers Arms is a traditional pub owned and run by the local community. We’re located in Horncliffe, right next to the beautiful River Tweed. After being closed for a while, we reopened in December 2023, completely renovated and ready to welcome everyone, from locals to visitors.

Here’s what we offer:

  • Locally made food is served for light lunches and evening meals from Tuesday to Saturday.
  • A great selection of local beers and drinks for every taste.
  • A friendly atmosphere, perfect for families and dogs.

If you’re staying longer, check out our two comfy B&B rooms. They’re great for people exploring the nearby Tweed Cycle Way or Lower Tweed Trail. However, keep in mind that the building is from the 1760s, and the stairs might be steep for anyone with mobility challenges.

We’re also close to Berwick-Upon-Tweed, where you can visit artisan shops, walk along the historic Elizabethan Walls, or enjoy amazing coastal views. Whether you’re here for a meal, drinks, or an overnight stay, we’ll do our best to make your visit special.

About Us

The Fishers Arms Horncliffe: A Community Revival

The Fishers Arms has always been an important part of Horncliffe. After the pub closed in October 2021, our community came together to save it. We formed a community benefit society and bought the pub in July 2022, determined to bring it back to life.

After lots of hard work renovating the space, we finally reopened in December 2023. Now, the pub is a lively spot for both residents and visitors. It’s run by volunteers for now, but we’re looking for a permanent tenant to lease it and help it grow even more.

Our mission is simple:

  • Keep our village pub open for years to come.
  • Serve amazing, locally sourced food and drinks.
  • Create a welcoming place for everyone.

How to Find Us The Fishers Arms is close to great trails like the Tweed Cycle Way and the Lower Tweed Trail, so it’s a perfect stop for cyclists and walkers. Free parking is available in the village.

A Few Notes:

  • Free wireless internet is available for all guests.
  • Smoking is only allowed outside.
  • For B&B guests: You must be 18 or older, and we can’t allow pets or children in the rooms.
